One of the behaviours we are learning about is courtship behaviour. For this, I will be going over the King of Saxony's courtship behaviour as a bird of paradise. <br /><br />Courtship - is a behavioural feature in animals such as birds either dance, build or sing to attract a potential mate </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgbQPovpib7rmCgTCplAnGNLM1i0XQT2JPzp-Rs-dJCknSvuyLae46WGpteJYeoUyTzeOvtCdLfoo5scBAvjZFLzVhj_ITD-xczABbLvWY_FpE289lQyWBXim9qjB1zMoSK4JBKFuRX6AYWyVSzgmbvN9_Y2A-m_jI1m0tUZww5tQ1ko5CTVLDTxcPzGwMM" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="389" data-original-width="584" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgbQPovpib7rmCgTCplAnGNLM1i0XQT2JPzp-Rs-dJCknSvuyLae46WGpteJYeoUyTzeOvtCdLfoo5scBAvjZFLzVhj_ITD-xczABbLvWY_FpE289lQyWBXim9qjB1zMoSK4JBKFuRX6AYWyVSzgmbvN9_Y2A-m_jI1m0tUZww5tQ1ko5CTVLDTxcPzGwMM" width="320" /></a></div><br /><br /></div><br /><br /></div><br /><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>For these birds of paradise what females find attractive are their head feathers<br />So the longer the head feathers the more likely they are to find a mate and increase their reproductive success rate which in the end benefits them. These head feathers however have no other use other than being an ornament for attracting a mate. <br /><br />However, to even attract the attention of a female so she can get a good look at his head feathers, these males birds will perch themselves on a forest canopy in exploded leks and sing to attract the attention<br />of a female who could be a potential mate. <br /><br />Other than having these head feathers to find a mate, these feathers have no other benefits to these birds as they do not increase survival chances for the bird.<br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-61498901014323158822023-05-02T09:36:00.003+12:002023-05-02T09:36:27.624+12:00Health - Creating a hero<p> Term 2 week 2 of health was diving into the Ethical approach, in doing so we were told to create a hero that represents a ethical approach for me and my friend's hero we did the ethical approach of Virtue.<br /><br /><br />The definition of an ethical approach is as follows: An Ethical Principle is a RULE or FOUNDATION that guides a person or group's thinking about ethical matters. Ethical principles get to the heart of people's attitudes, values and beliefs and therefore are a useful framework (That reflects the underlying concepts of HEE).<br /><br />Our ethical approach of virtue is an ethical approach that focuses on attitudes or character traits that enable us to be and to act in ways that develop our human potential, it causes us to ask whether our actions are reflective of the kind of person we want to be.<br /><br /><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxW9LTbR2FO_JEAeb5iftLl5nqZPhh0oeoKgzRu9Q1nopAidVSZIfGUf3yqghLS2jI_4Tnujt6dNM5vGItilOsP_AyB9xU98h9BM5nHyYqOxfg_AH3RNQdi0u9GQ2UbW2I2RvmZU8QNk2Aoh17w3mdy0T9Sk0UNRZ43WOiHe3ZLxjlN6X4wHPX1Il0NA/s3024/unnamed%20(11).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1341" data-original-width="3024" height="142" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxW9LTbR2FO_JEAeb5iftLl5nqZPhh0oeoKgzRu9Q1nopAidVSZIfGUf3yqghLS2jI_4Tnujt6dNM5vGItilOsP_AyB9xU98h9BM5nHyYqOxfg_AH3RNQdi0u9GQ2UbW2I2RvmZU8QNk2Aoh17w3mdy0T9Sk0UNRZ43WOiHe3ZLxjlN6X4wHPX1Il0NA/s320/unnamed%20(11).jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Our hero demonstrates our ethical approach of virtue via the scales that help him to evaluate whats the best way to go about helping the woman who is being robbedUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-50112955625327985682023-03-24T10:12:00.005+13:002023-03-24T10:12:50.853+13:00Potatools - BiologyIn Biology were learning about human evolutions so how we started out as apes and involes into what we are now. The main thing we were learning out today was the tools that were made by our ancestors and how they were made and how they used them and what they were used for.<br /><br />To learn about how they made the tools we decided to actually try making the tools like they would have back then, but instead of using rocks due to health and safety issues we used potatos and knives to shape our potatools. <br /><br />Below is a poster that was made showing our potatools and information about the potatools from that specific aera of time.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXoWvC6_4WHBKw_AgSiviOg1_jMiM2AD9Yvq1_-uBJCPuyKZYwWcpgoaOKtISfbjfSBSvncacfwTk1eheaH-qiQoBwI7b0RFAM2VUUDAGRCtZgWjimVPzuusP4EZuhPEQYCQ4VeRuqkmWKmOI9JsSbebWorF54V9jcuOBokhWmSTx2lucP_cn9ke6j5w/s1500/potatools%20_3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1282" data-original-width="1500" height="511" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXoWvC6_4WHBKw_AgSiviOg1_jMiM2AD9Yvq1_-uBJCPuyKZYwWcpgoaOKtISfbjfSBSvncacfwTk1eheaH-qiQoBwI7b0RFAM2VUUDAGRCtZgWjimVPzuusP4EZuhPEQYCQ4VeRuqkmWKmOI9JsSbebWorF54V9jcuOBokhWmSTx2lucP_cn9ke6j5w/w599-h511/potatools%20_3.png" width="599" /></a></div><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-62025635336775597092023-03-03T10:17:00.001+13:002023-03-03T10:17:13.682+13:00Biology - Human Evolution<p> In Lvl 3 Biology, we are learning about human evolution from its old days millions of years ago to now. We've been given the task today to find an article about human evolution and put down what it was talking about and its key points.<br /><br />For this, I used this article --<b>></b><a href="https://www.nature.com/scitable/knowledge/library/lucy-a-marvelous-specimen-135716086/#:~:text=Lucy%2C%20a%203.2%20million%2Dyear,in%201974%20in%20Hadar%2C%20Ethiopia.&text=The%20fossil%20locality%20at%20Hadar,as%20Afar%20Locality%20288%20(A.L." style="font-weight: bold;" target="_blank">Lucy</a><br /><br />This article goes over the first half-formed found body fossils of a past ancestor of ours. Lucy's bones were discovered in 1974, and the rest of what remaining fossils of her body were also dug up.<br /><b><i>Lucy's Bones</i></b><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhZfhG4NgiWb1dC80O_Q1JgWUD5DE13JRBBK87dDOOMnze2xhtIXeiIo0N3JSLupPM2DQu6yFg95ZnaQ7kY3Ax2OcYrggSyqNGRK2suxu2kOq6lrBhy5Uq0a_Xpllg7oa_9PQDWDNlmL9a4xTfKX4mRw5T9aG1WWHPZzKNd-DGarr-rhq6oVqZLKEgRZA" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="987" data-original-width="626" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhZfhG4NgiWb1dC80O_Q1JgWUD5DE13JRBBK87dDOOMnze2xhtIXeiIo0N3JSLupPM2DQu6yFg95ZnaQ7kY3Ax2OcYrggSyqNGRK2suxu2kOq6lrBhy5Uq0a_Xpllg7oa_9PQDWDNlmL9a4xTfKX4mRw5T9aG1WWHPZzKNd-DGarr-rhq6oVqZLKEgRZA" width="152" /></a></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />This article about Lucy goes over the small things on how they knew she was a female, which species of ape she belonged to and if Lucy was the missing link to the ancestry between humans and apes. <br /><br />The scientists who discovered Lucy's fossils bones knew they belonged to one species of monkey alone and not another because her fossils fragments belonged to more than one individual. Then more fossil bones of probably the same body parts would have been found twice, this, however, was not the case. At the beginning of finding Lucy's bones, so it was hypothesized that she was a female due to her small size. And to the fact that living primates during Lucy's time had sexual dimorphism where the females were largely shorter than the males. Making it seem clear that the dug-up bones were that of a female instead of a male. Later down the line they figured out her height through her femur and learnt that she ended up being around 104 to 106 cm's in height.<br /><br />Lucy would be considered half of a link, but not a missing link between apes and humans, she is more of an intermediate link between humans and apes, as there were other apes older in age way before her, so in conclusion she is only a small half of the bigger link towards humans and apes.<p></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-62023925005230992992022-06-17T09:33:00.007+12:002022-06-23T14:13:41.582+12:00Connections - week 1 (Of connections)<p>For our second English assessment of the year and term 2 were doing connections, we recently finished watching Blade Runner 2049, and reading Klara and the sun. </i>Its a small detail that I didn't know but I think as really neat as it explains Klara a bit. Klara's name as Ishiguro picked means brightness. I feel that goes well with the personality she has, it also goes well with the fact that the sun is bright and that she's looking out for the sun and praying to it in hope that it'd help Josie and give Josie help like the sun gave the beggar man and his dog help. Klara's personality goes well with the meaning of her name, she's carefree, cheerful, intelligent/bright, but is also observant. </span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span face="Calibri, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><i><b>_____________________________</b></i></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"><b><i>Klara and the sun & Blade Runner 2049</i></b></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span face="Calibri, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><i><b>_____________________________</b></i></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span face="Calibri, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><b>What connection can you draw so far between klara and the sun and blade runner 2049? So it's got kinda repetitive in a way. Plus I know that to be human and have personhood you have to have your own personality and your own sense of will, as well as the ability to think for yourself. That's personhood, the ability to make your own choices and to think for yourself and feel for yourself.</div><div><br /></div><div>And If I ever meet someone like Klara, I'd feel happy that she has her own personhood in a way that works for her. And K who didn't at first, but did in the end. I wouldn't still feel different about personhood after meeting them, cause I've already watched or read things about people like K and Klara, people who can't think for themself or have their own feelings, but in the end or throughout the movie or story they all in some way learn how to feel or think for their self.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Klara and the Sun (Book)</b></div><div><img alt="Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro" class="n3VNCb KAlRDb" data-noaft="1" height="388" jsaction="load:XAeZkd;" jsname="HiaYvf" src="https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1603206535l/54120408._SY475_.jpg" style="height: 471px; margin: 0px; width: 310.364px;" width="256" /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Blade Runner 2049<br /></b><img alt="Blade Runner 2049 (2017) - IMDb" class="n3VNCb KAlRDb" data-noaft="1" jsaction="load:XAeZkd;" jsname="HiaYvf" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BNzA1Njg4NzYxOV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwODk5NjU3MzI@._V1_FMjpg_UX1000_.jpg" style="height: 471px; margin: 0px; width: 317.814px;" /></div></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-46532915034967930822022-05-27T11:56:00.004+12:002022-05-27T11:56:46.640+12:00Biology - Osmosis<p>Thursday 26th May 2022 </p><p>Today in Biology we did an experiment on Osmosis.<br />This started with grabbing 3 beakers and filling them up each to the same amount so each beaker had about 150m of water in them. 2 of our beakers had to be filled up with either sugar or salt while the 3rd beaker was left with just the plain water when we stuck the sugar and salt in their separate beakers we stir them till it looks dissolved, then we go and get 3 gummy bears, one gummy bear for each beaker. <br /><br />Osmosis - A term used to describe a special type of diffusion. Osmosis is the movement of water from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.</p><p>Hyper Tonic - High Concentration <br />Hypo Tonic - Low Concentration<br />IsoTonic - Equal Concentration</p><p>Hypothesis - I think that the gummy bear will be a Hypo Tonic which means it will have a high concentration. I think this is because Osmosis has a semi-permeable membrane, which means that only certain liquids and gasses can exit and enter through the membrane. It will have a high concentration because Glucose is a larger molecule and won't be gained entry to the membrane which means that the molecules within the first beaker will still be within where they started. I think the 2nd beaker which has the salt will be a high concentration as well like the sugar because like glucose it's a larger molecule and particularly needs more help to get through the membrane and because Osmosis is semi-permeable it's likely entry for salt will not be granted. By this, I'm thinking that both gummy bears by the end will still be their regular small size.</p><p>I think the last beaker, the beaker with nothing but plain water will be Isotonic, with equal concentration, this is because there is no other molecule to interrupt what is already in the beaker. therefore the water molecules are at an equal concentration on both sides of the membrane, and the movement of the water will be the same in both directions, making them equal. This means that I think the gummies will be in the medium size not small but not too big either.</p><p>CONCLUSION<br />---------------------</p><p>Friday 27th May 2022<br /><br />Its been a day since we stuck 3 gummies bears in 3 different beakers, one with sugar, one with salt, and one with just plain water. Today we poured out the water and stuck our gummies bears on a sheet of toweling paper. Out of one of my hypotheses I only got one right, I said that the gummies bear in beaker 2, the gummy bear that was stuck into salt and water didn't grow an inch and stayed its regular packaged gummy bear size. This tells me that gummy 2 was indeed hypotonic.</p><p>For Gummy 1 the gummy we stuck into sugar and water, which grew massively in size. Meaning that it's hypertonic and not a hypo tonic. due to having a higher concentration than the gummy bear that was hypotonic and also being much larger in size than the hypotonic gummy bear.</p><p>The last beaker, beaker 3 was the beak with just water in it, the results of that were odd. The gummy had grown in size but it wasn't as large as the gummy stuck in sugar. when taking the water gummy bear out of the beaker it broke in half, but when we took the sugar one out it stayed intact. Like gummy 1 it's also hypertonic and not as I thought an Isotonic. When comparing Gummy 1 (Sugar) to gummy 3 (Water), Gummy 3 is a hypertonic, and Gummy 1 is a hypotonic this is because Gummy 3 lysed, and broke in half which means gummy 3 took in more water than it could handle, compared to gummy 1 which was still intact.</p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-259106630927057372021-11-08T11:49:00.004+13:002021-11-08T11:49:44.656+13:00School YearThe School years coming to an end soon, so I wanna talk about my year and what my school highlights were for this year. Not much had started at the start of the year so I'll leave that out, I'll move to subjects. I have to admit my favorite subjects this year were Science, PE and Health. I personally before this year didn't really like PE, but when I took it this year because I wanted to get fitter I actually began to enjoy the class, I had a few good friends in there which made the class even much more fun, and I had a great and understanding teacher, which I felt made the class a lot better. I enjoyed Science, because I pretty much always enjoyed doing science each year cause science is just my thing. My favorite subjects on science were Bio and Chem, I enjoy Bio because I get to learn about the human body and I'm future years I'll get to do more Dissection's which I enjoy doing. I like Chemistry but didn't know much about it or even understand it till I began doing it this year, thankfully I know understand Chemistry a lot more better than before which makes the subject much more enjoyable, my favorite part of chemistry is playing with all of the chemicals and seeing the reactions they make.<div><br /></div><div>And Health, I picked health this year because it was a class I looked forward to like the other two classes. I enjoy health cause I get learn about new interesting things and the teacher was great so it was much more easier to understand the class and enjoy it. In my opinion what makes a subject you don't like better is the teacher, I didn't use to like Math till I got my math teacher for this year, he made me like math a lot this year, each week I would wait for math because he was funny and just made math seem a lot more easier to understand which was very helpful as I'm not that typically good at math.</div><div><br /></div><div>So over my year most of my highlights were based in these subjects, I also had a few good funny moments in English, which made a few of my highlights for this year. I find English kind of hard so having the English teacher I do now that's willingly to sit down with me and help me with my work made me really happy as I thought I'd right out fail English all together this year.</div><div><br /></div><div>But I've had an overall good year this year and I cant wait to see what happens next year.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-55821418984698076612021-10-29T13:05:00.004+13:002021-10-29T13:05:47.802+13:00Passion ProjectsIt's been 2 terms now since we've done Passion Project and its finally come to an end a few days ago, I had a lot of fun doing passion projects cause I got to do it with people I knew, which in my opinion made the whole thing a lot better.<br /><br />My favorite part of Passion projects was the ending part.<br />After all our research we got to play around with fake blood and learn about splatter patterns.<br />If there's a drop of blood and its a full circle and its big then its just blood that's dripped down from a wound. If there's a circle that has pointy excess bits coming off it then its from the banging of a hammer and if there's small droplets of blood that's near that hammer input then its from the blood from the hammer flying off the hammer. I have to say that learning about splatter patterns was my favorite part of my passion projects as I had a lot of fun.<br /><br />We also got to create a crime scene for a teacher and create her death.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Q9TN20GjMA/YXs6lmHBWSI/AAAAAAAAB1A/GWCA9QFtWqg2M9tlIV3E8Z5k3dZr37KawCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_1490.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Q9TN20GjMA/YXs6lmHBWSI/AAAAAAAAB1A/GWCA9QFtWqg2M9tlIV3E8Z5k3dZr37KawCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_1490.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>If I get to do passion projects again I honestly can't wait to try something new as doing this was a highlight of my day.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-43485804812153141692021-10-18T11:50:00.002+13:002021-10-18T11:51:04.798+13:00HolidayTerm 4 has just started so I wanna talk about what I did in the holidays. In the holidays I basically did the same thing everyday get on FFXIV, thought everyday I got on I experienced something new. During the period of the Holiday I got to know more people and did lots of raids and trials, my favorite raid is a alliance raid called the puppet bunker which is a neir raid.<div><br /></div><div>Along the way I also meet a friend of mines Static. A static in ffxiv is a what you'd call a guild in other games. My static isn't exactly big but their filled with really great people that I get along well with. (My char is the short girl with blonde hair and the pink outfit)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hUFM3OjX0Z4/YWymU4BPbzI/AAAAAAAAB0U/PjuJbkw-GOs4IYy04mzGMTkd4XFDhbXVQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1920/REEE1.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="999" data-original-width="1920" height="220" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hUFM3OjX0Z4/YWymU4BPbzI/AAAAAAAAB0U/PjuJbkw-GOs4IYy04mzGMTkd4XFDhbXVQCLcBGAsYHQ/w422-h220/REEE1.jpg" width="422" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Throughout the period of the holidays I also went out for dinner twice with my family to burger which I enjoyed as the burgers are really good there. My favorite burger is the BBQ Rodeo. and I like mixing Fanta and Coke together when I fill up my cup.</div><div><br /></div>From there on I hadn't done much but play ffxiv talk with my friends do daily roulettes for Gill (money currency in FFXIV) and exp to lvl up my chars before endwalker the next expansion comes out in late November where the lvl cap will be extended to lvl 90 and I'll be able to lvl up my gunbreaker a tank class.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-5343631480263295692021-09-20T12:08:00.001+12:002021-09-20T12:08:03.755+12:00Passion ProjectsFor Wananga we are doing passion projects for term 3 and half of term 4.<br />For passion projects I am doing Forensic Science. I picked this cause I enjoy science and want to<div>take Forensics as my future job.<br /><br />In Forensics we are first doing a bit of research, the things we are researching are somethings that Forensics' would do. The research we find out we put on a doc and gather more information about the technique<br /><br />I picked, Fingerprints, Scene of crime officers and Toxicology.<br />I picked Fingerprints as my first topic because it's what got me into Forensics in the first place and I really like the challenge behind trying to find out who's fingerprint belongs to who. I picked scene of crime for my second because they go to crime scenes and investigate take back what they find and put it through things to either find out what happened, who the victim was and who was the murder. This I really like as they also involve themselves with DNA. And lastly Toxicology I just picked this as a random but I think it's a good thing I picked it as Toxicology goes over the protentional poisons or drugs found within a victim.</div><div><br /></div><div>The part that I'm really excited about is when we reach the end of passion projects our teacher for the subject will create a crime scene that we will have to solve.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-52809395490462040972021-08-02T09:17:00.007+12:002021-08-02T09:27:26.679+12:00Pathos, Logos, Ethos II EnglishPathos is a form of persuasive writing that is used to evoke the feelings of the audience. In other words Pathos is used throughout stories to make the audience feel something and give the text more meaning to the viewer, this can either be sad or happy. An example of Pathos - "She has THE POWER to change the world. You have THE POWER to help her do it." - <a href="https://www.pinterest.nz/pin/712202128549379039/" target="_blank">Add</a><div><div><br /></div><div>Logos is used to persuade someone by using facts. In other words Logos is where you give an example of something and you reason with the audience as to why that statement is true or false with evidence to back it up. An example of this "Harry Potter - "You've made a mistake I can't be a wizard. I mean I'm just Harry, just Harry." "Hagrid - " Well, just Harry, did you ever make anything happen? Anything you couldn't explain, when you were angry or scared?" - Harry potter</div><div><br /></div><div>Ethos is used in a text to convince the audience. Another way to put it is that Ethos is used to convince people by having someone of authority or a text tell you about something that shows truth and has credibility to what it's telling you. The person of authority could be a CEO or a Celebrity. An example of this " I learned the real lessons about how America works from experience. When I was 37, I helped start a small company. My Partners and I had been working for a company that was in the business of helping other businesses. So some of us had this idea that if we really believed our advice was helping companies, we should invest in companies. We should bet on ourselves and on our advice. So we started a new business called Bain Capital... That business we started with 10 people had now grown into a great American success story. Some of the companies we helped start are names you know. An office supply company called Staples - where I'm pleased to see the Obama campaign has been shopping; The Sports Authority, which became a favorite of my sons. We started an early childhood learning center called Bright Horizons that Frist Lady Michelle Obama rightly praised" - Mitt Romney''s Acceptance speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>----------------------------------------------</div><div><br /></div><div>What are we doing? - Learning how to write good Persuasive Formal Writing.</div><div><br /></div><div>Why are we doing it? - We are learning how to write like this so we can one day right persuasive things that could change someone's mind about something.</div><div><br /></div><div>What questions do I have? - Not much really.</div><div><br /></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-61867063356642677682021-07-26T11:52:00.000+12:002021-07-26T11:52:01.156+12:00HOLIDAYSSS - Blog PostWhat did I do in the holidays?<div>I Slept... thats mostly it I slept the holidays away cause I had nothing better to do.</div><div><br /></div><div>But</div><div>But</div><div><br /></div><div>I did do something on the last week of the holidays, on the last week of the holidays I got a few new things to add to my room. I got a new mouse cause my other was dying and I needed a new one, this new one was a gaming mouse one with programable buttons which I feel makes my gaming much easier. A day later I got a nice desk for free, though the downside was that I had to clean the desk top to bottom, which I had no problem doing. the only real problem was getting it in through the door and to my room.</div><div><br /></div><div>I think a day or 2 later I got a chair a office chair. I had borrowed mums chair from her cause the current chair I was using was giving me sore shoulders, so I used her chair in place of the other one till I got a new one, I got my new chair (Not really) from the eco shop. it was a office chair that was a nice blue colour, and like the desk I had to clean the chair down from top to bottom with soppy hot water the same as what I used for the desk to clean it.</div><div><br /></div><div>In total I think it was worth it, I have a desk a chair and a new mouse that I really like. So I think the last week of the holidays went really well compared to the first week of the holidays where I did something stupid which led to me forgetting my passwords to one of my games and losing my account.... no worries though I can get it back soon near Christmas or before Christmas hopefully.</div><div><br /></div><div>In the mean time I'll be playing the trial version of the game till further notice....</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-49317352567739378862021-06-21T12:08:00.002+12:002021-06-21T12:08:26.788+12:00Post about anything<p> Now like before there just isn't anything interesting to talk about, that goes on at school cause all were doing is assessments, I mean there is one thing we have been doing that isn't an assessment, which is called Mates and Dates, but we only have it twice or once a week and we've so far only done two sessions so not much to really talk about.</p><p>So instead I'll be talking about FFXIV a game I really love and adore</p><p>I began playing Final Fantasy XIV last year, and to say I love it, the community nice and there are lots of people to talk to. My favourite expansion is Shadow brings as it has a character named G'raha Tia in it, G'raha is a Cat boy (Yes they have cat people, as well as bunny people, and demon people called Au ra, Bunny people are called Veria's while Cat people are called Miqo'te)</p><p>I play as a female Miqo'te to represent my gender, a female.<br />When playing FFXIV you can play as and job on one class, so alts rarely are a needed thing as you can play any job on one character.<br />On my character I main healers, the healer I play is called the White Mage which is mainly a healing type. Each healer has their own role, one of the other healers can heal but can also buff. The one healer I am really excited about is the sage, which will come out in patch 6.0 when EndWalker comes out, The sage is a healer who mainly does healing and barriers to protect their teammates from dying.</p><p>I honestly really enjoy playing as a healer cause I rather save people than cause people problems by always dying, plus when you're a healer you get to stay away from the boss most of the time, which is nice.</p><p><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">My Character.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tzLBBJUsBDQ/YM_YOxYStRI/AAAAAAAABx0/69VslaITPo8d5BDZ5fotYhvPKYJ32tmAACLcBGAsYHQ/s1778/CAPPY.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="997" data-original-width="1778" height="252" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tzLBBJUsBDQ/YM_YOxYStRI/AAAAAAAABx0/69VslaITPo8d5BDZ5fotYhvPKYJ32tmAACLcBGAsYHQ/w451-h252/CAPPY.PNG" width="451" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-74263591320168806842021-06-14T12:04:00.005+12:002021-06-14T12:04:27.440+12:00Wananga II Post about anythingRecently as the weeks go on, less and less interesting things are happening, because of assessments for year 11, the only thing that really seems to make my days at school fun is seeing my friends, and Friday period 4, 5 and lunch where I have coaching.<br /><br />But apart from that, not much is happening.<div><br /></div><div>So instead I'll be talking about what I've been doing at home, instead of talking about Assessments.</div><div><br /></div><div>Recently at home, I've been playing sims 4, which I fully enjoy. Whenever I start up a sim game I also go Pinterest shopping for clothes and mods. When I go shopping for things, I try to look in the anime section for hairs as some people make really good hairs, most of the hairs in my sims are from, Genshin Impact, Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV. Cause I love Final Fantasy.</div><div><br /></div><div>Speaking of Final Fantasy, I've been waiting a while for the new Endwalker Expansion to come out for FFXIV. My first time playing Final Fantasy was during a trial of the game. I really enjoyed the trial so decided to get all of the current expansions since they were on a discount. I enjoy the storyline and the effects. though I seemed to be having trouble completing a quest. <- That was in 2020 in Nov. Now it's 2021, and I wish to continue playing again. Start a new character and relive the game again.</div><div>And can't wait for the new expansion with the two new classes.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-7533596890895489242021-05-31T12:08:00.001+12:002021-05-31T12:08:20.086+12:00Blog Post... About Anything II WanangaSince not much has been happening in Wananga lately except for assessments I'm going to be talking about what I've been doing out of school at home for the last past few days.<div><br /></div><div>My Favourite things to do when out of school is to play Pokemon most importantly Pokemon Sword, I had recently got the expansion pass after deciding between the pass or getting Little Nightmares 2. I'm glad I got the pass cause I recently got Dialga and Palkia which I fully enjoyed EV training them and levelling them up to the max level. The other pokemon on my team is the male Indeed, Galvantula and the rapid strike version of Urshifu.</div><div><br /></div><div>After hard grinding and gathering EXP candies, I got all of them to level 100 eventually.</div><div>I named my Indeedee Dachi and my Galvantula Sparkles. (I Love them very much)<br /><br />In all honesty, I can't wait for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond as myself has played Pokemon Platinum and fully enjoyed the game and can't wait for the remakes. The only thing I wished they changed was the look of it, and not made it chibi and made it into sort of Pokemon Gen 8's look. But we all can't get what we want.</div><div><div><br /></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-16660033514312200732021-05-21T12:59:00.002+12:002021-05-21T12:59:27.285+12:00Blog Post II What I've been doing the last past 2 weeks IIFor the last past 2 weeks in Wananga, we've been working on Assessment. This assessment is based on our Well-being. There are two docs that both equal one Assessment. Thankfully their not that complicated if you know what it's talking about. Most of the stuff on the assessment is about our well-being and factors that could change our well-being or affect it. For E.g sleep, If I don't get enough sleep I'm all groggy and tired in the morning till lunchtime comes around.<br /><br />Apart from Wananga<div><br /></div><div>I've been doing other things in school such as doing coach training before the 28th for PE, which in turn is another Assessment.<br />And in Health I'm almost onto another Assessment about the changes in one's Well-Being we'll be watching a movie for this assessment and writing down what changes the Main Character went through.</div><div>In English, we've also recently started another Assessment... While doing that Assessment I'm also trying to finish another English one.</div><div><br /></div><div>So in turn most of my school life currently is just Assessment.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><br /></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-11823934643710459722021-04-15T13:14:00.019+12:002021-04-15T13:45:40.341+12:00End Of Term Wananga post II Culture KeteOver the last past few weeks, we've been doing a wananga topic on our culture, or if we don't know anything about our culture just basically anything that represents us and tell a story about us.<br />Over the week we had the time to do this I'd managed to come up with this, All in all, I'm really proud of it and couldn't have asked for anything better. <div><br />My Poster<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vgcewQDNP-s/YHeR_OPA0DI/AAAAAAAABwY/ATf3eRjiLqg6ho8sAUNYrdzHmwTP0NbyACLcBGAsYHQ/s696/Pannnn.PNG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="696" data-original-width="492" height="445" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vgcewQDNP-s/YHeR_OPA0DI/AAAAAAAABwY/ATf3eRjiLqg6ho8sAUNYrdzHmwTP0NbyACLcBGAsYHQ/w314-h445/Pannnn.PNG" width="314" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Blue, Yellow, Red (Colors at the back of the triangle) - These colors represent the pansexual flag which also represents my sexuality.</div><div><br /></div><div>Family - The boy on the left represents my brother who is a year 7 this year and the girl on the right you'll just have to imagine as a boy, that represents my little brother who is still in primary school, and the girl on the left is me, and the woman on the right is my mother. The question marks that are on the male represent the fact that a father is not present in my life, so my mother takes up the role of mother and father.</div><div><br /></div><div>The Quote - This quote represents the fact that my older brother is half American and kiwi while the rest of my family is kiwi and half British. <- This is where the part of <b>we stand together as one even through all our differences</b><br />The part where it says <b>Hardships we face, </b>This represents the fact a second parent was never present in our lives, and we've always had to rely on our Mother and Grandparents. And because of this, there have been lots of struggles that we've been through, especially since my mother is still looking for a job and has to do polytech again.</div><div><br /></div><div>The moon and the arrow pointing to the heart with the word baby - This represents the fact that I was born during the middle of the night.</div><div><br /></div><div><span id="docs-internal-guid-ee69a195-7fff-b5ec-b047-40b970e74e86"><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">South Islands and Plane - I used to live in Nelson before moving to Christchurch. The star at the top is placed on Nelon on the South Islands and the arrow that is pointing down to the next star is placed on Christchurch. Next to that, I stuck a plane which is another way of saying that I flew to Christchurch instead of drove.<br /></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The icons above the people (Pencil = Drawing, Pie = Food, Zz = Sleep, Console = Gaming)<br />These icons represent the things I like, and the things I like to do. I like drawing as it brings me a sense of relief and pride. Relief to the fact that it calms me down, and pride to the fact that looking at my artwork now I've seen just how much I've improved in my drawing.
I also love food, there isn't a time in my life where food isn't involved in my life. One of my favorite things to eat has to be Lasanga and those Pies from the shops. I also spend most of my time if I have nothing better to do sleeping. I find that sleeping even If I know I shouldn't sleep all the time is calming, and makes me feel better. (It also helps pass the time) And lastly the console, I love gaming and most of my friends already know that. One of my favourite game companys are Square Enix, who have made games that I love playing such as FFXVI, FFXV and the KINGDOM HEARTS Franchise, and my otheer favourite company is Game Freak who make pokemon. I had gotten the PS4 for the Kingdom Heart games and the FF games, and now have all the currently released Kingdom heart games that came out in the start of 2020. I also recently got the Nintendo Switch for my birthday. My first game on it was Pokemon Lets go pikachu and my second which I recently got on Easter Saturday was Pokemon Sword. These games have given me a lot of inspiration as well as a fandom with many fanstaic people in them to talk to.</span></p></span></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-28110688050105658692021-04-01T09:35:00.001+13:002021-04-01T09:35:17.004+13:00English II Over the shoulder shot (OTS)<p>WALT - "Analyse how film aspects show meaning"<br /><br />This marks my last DLO for the Film/Visual Language topic. During their stay at the island where their vacation is at. The hotel sets on fire injuring Alex's friend's dad. Before the hotel set up in flames, Alex had seen an old enemy that he'd seen in book 1. this led him to investigate which lead him to find a number ringing it and hearing the name of a famous person and the voice of that person.<br /><br />Alex then sets out to try and exposes the famous singer for trying to kill his friend's father.<br />Throughout the story, we find out that the friend's father was a journalist who was doing a topic on a famous person whose name is Cray.<br /><br />Cray throughout the world is known as famous singers and the creator of a new console which has higher graphics than any other current console in their world. <br />After being picked to try out the console after Alex steals a ticket to sneak into a show that Cray was hosting, Alex sneaks into this big building where we get to see a conversation between a man and Cray. Cray was using the man for information in turn the man would get 2 million dollars for the information he gave Gray. During that part of the book, Cray tells the man his money is in a big class case which on a stall is a case that has his money. When the man opens the case he finds out that it's empty after he opens the case a window-like door closes his exit from exiting from the class case a second later 2 million quarters begin to pour down on the man likely killing him. As Cray kills anyone who gets in his way or has valuable information that he can not let people walk away knowing about.<br /><br />This the part that I've just passed and I'm currently still continuing the book. So far I'm really enjoying the series and cant wait to read book 6. And have now moved onto Film/Visual Language Study. For the start of this topic, we had to make a DLO on one of the film aspects we were given, for this I picked Point - Of - View.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WPfRurPF8es/YGDhB68SW8I/AAAAAAAABvk/uoPWjpN8Qus0mG8kTkp2XUf6TKwdttIkACLcBGAsYHQ/s922/PointOfView.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="922" data-original-width="763" height="581" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WPfRurPF8es/YGDhB68SW8I/AAAAAAAABvk/uoPWjpN8Qus0mG8kTkp2XUf6TKwdttIkACLcBGAsYHQ/w481-h581/PointOfView.PNG" width="481" /></a></div><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-79959060171668973442021-03-12T12:42:00.001+13:002021-03-12T12:42:05.241+13:00Athletics Day II Friday Reflection PostLast Thursday we had Athletic days. At our school and probably most of all the other schools too. our athletics is split into two groups Competitive and Social I was in Competitive, this was also my first time being in competitive as I've always done Social. The difference between the two is that Competitive starts athletic at the start of period 1 and goes all the way to the end of school while Social has two periods of class before coming out and doing athletics.<br /><br />The Athletic options I picked for this year were<br /><br />100m<br />200m<br />Shot-put<br />High-Jump<br />Long-Jump<br /><br />Before athletics day if you picked PE as a subject for year 11 you'd do a pre athletic practice. Meaning we'd go out and practice certain events we were taking part in on athletics day. Just to get that bit better at the event. Which I found helped a lot on the actual day of the event.<br /><br />I fairly enjoyed this year's Athletics. And shockingly enough doing competitive actually gave me the chance to talk to people I normally wouldn't talk to in my year group which was really nice.<br />The thing I wish I could've changed but I know I cant was the weather. I would have loved for Athletics day to be like last year where the weather was nice and sunny. But in the end, Athletics was still really good.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-507629477707913862021-02-26T12:49:00.003+13:002021-02-26T12:49:37.747+13:00Wananga II Reflection Post (Aka Reflection Day)( About my week )<br />Wananga this week was okay. I don't remember much from Monday and Tuesday nor Wednesday but I remember Thursday and today. Yesterday we had 3 people come in and talk to our whole house (Tiekie) and give us a rundown of things. The first person who came in was one of our librarians, she talked about how the system for getting books outworked and that if needed we could come to them to possibly get new books out for the school. The next person that came in was a teacher of our school who worked for the juniour student council. She talked about some of the opportunities that we could partake in within the school.<br />And the last person was a lady who worked with many other kids on cyber safety and how to use their blog and gain viewers for their blog.<br /><br />( About my book )<br />But apart from that we also did some silent reading. For the last past 2 weeks, I've been reading the graphic novel Alex Rider. Which is about a boy who was on a mission to find out more about his father, while trying to find out information about his father he encounters Scorpia a group his father was in, there he learned that his father was an assassin and that his father was shot from the enemy group of Scorpia, which Alex had soon got involved in after being assigned to kill one of their people and being tricked with bulletproof glass. Only realizing there was glass thereafter he'd fired the gun to take the target down. After he got caught he got stuck into another problem which involved a vaccine that could kill people with the press of a button.<br /><br />this is what I've managed to get up to so far within the book, but I'm really enjoying the book and its plot, and after I finish the book I'm currently reading on it, I might also read the next one after that. (I left out a few things within the book so some spoilers are left out in case people wish to read Alex Rider)<br /><br />Book - Scorpia: The Graphic Novel<br />Novel by Anthony Horowitz and Antony Johnston<br /><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JVqLR9O_-OU/YDg3WkGt7rI/AAAAAAAABtA/yK2eGRFtSaItewjq_2MJUhF3OD_hj6f1gCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/91p50p7JsXL.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1408" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JVqLR9O_-OU/YDg3WkGt7rI/AAAAAAAABtA/yK2eGRFtSaItewjq_2MJUhF3OD_hj6f1gCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/91p50p7JsXL.jpg" /></a></div><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414972383665590014.post-64807266267872793722021-02-17T14:25:00.006+13:002021-02-19T09:07:39.089+13:00WTE (Write that essay) II English<p><i style="font-weight: bold;">The simple sentence</i><br />Stan Lee was born on the 28th of December 1922.<br /><br /><b><i>The very short sentence<br /></i></b>Life equals death.<br /><br /><b><i>The power sentence<br /></i></b>knowing the reality of the world will lead you to a successful life.<br /><br /><b><i>Red, White and Blue<br /></i></b>Life is full of many wonderful things Animals, plants and humans.<br /><br /><b><i>The adverb start<br /></i></b>Shockingly enough the man managed to eat 20 whole hot dogs.<br /></p><p><i style="font-weight: bold;">Begin with a preposition</i><br />Before the war everyone was at peace with each other.<br /></p><p><i style="font-weight: bold;">The -ING start</i><br />Looking out over the rail Ashley could see a sea full of amazing creatures.</p><p><i style="font-weight: bold;">The -ED start</i><br />Thrilled she took a dive from the cliff and into the water.<br /><br /><i><b>The Semi-Colon<br /></b></i>He gave a perfect performance; he left far too soon.</p><p><i style="font-weight: bold;">The EM-Dash</i><br />Maplestory -A Free to play 2D game- was released on the 29th of April 20.</p><p><i style="font-weight: bold;">The W-start sentence</i><br />While his friend made a distraction, he made a run for the safe.<br /></p><p><i style="font-weight: bold;">Explore the subject</i><br />Hornby high school, which was opened in February 1975, is now a remarkably popular school.<br /><br /><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
