Buddha Temple vist

Yesterday the whole year 8 block in J block at Hornby High school went to Buddha’s Temple, the ride on the bus was long but short at the same time.

we were split in 2 groups, group 1 went on one bus while group 2 went on the other bus, while we sat on bus 2 one of the teachers Mr. Mitchell came onto the bus and said it is a tradition that bus 2 is always the best, is what he said as he had left to sit on bus 1.

When we go to the temple, there were people waving at us welcoming us.
When we got off the bus, we stood in the lines of our groups while some people at the temple took a couple of pictures of us.
After a while we began to move into a room with paintings as we sat on the floor, we began to talk about #3G4G, 3G means 3 goodness and 4G means 4 Giving after the little talk of 3G and 4G we split up into our groups of 2.

My Group went to the dining area first where on the tables there were cardboard flower cutouts, before we did that we sat down on the floor in front of the tables as we were explained of what the Buddha’s is and about the Buddha’s, after a small talk we were able to walk up to the small Buddha status and worship them.

After our worshiping we got to the cutout flowers which are called Lotus, we took the pieces out of the cardboard as we began to put them together, the green leaf for the bottom then we stack them up from 5 to 1.
After we created them we got them stapled together with an elastic band stapled to it also.
After a while, we switched activities and did what group 1 did.

Then we went outside and got some cookies and a cup of water as well as a little tattoo.

After a long, while we were all called to the main hall where the police were to talk to us, the police held a little play that some students played in, and after that, we got to dress up in some of their clothes.
Before getting some little bells with a red thingy that had the 3G & 4G.
After that, we all left with a smile on our faces.

Enjoy

  1. Hello Ruby. I enjoyed getting you read your recount about our time to the Buddhist temple. You added in some interesting detail such as when you told us about how we made our lotus flowers from 5 to 1, and you had some humourous moments like when Mr. Mitchell came onto our bus! Thank you for sharing your experience from yesterday with us.
