Blog Post... About Anything II Wananga

Since not much has been happening in Wananga lately except for assessments I'm going to be talking about what I've been doing out of school at home for the last past few days.

My Favourite things to do when out of school is to play Pokemon most importantly Pokemon Sword, I had recently got the expansion pass after deciding between the pass or getting Little Nightmares 2. I'm glad I got the pass cause I recently got Dialga and Palkia which I fully enjoyed EV training them and levelling them up to the max level. The other pokemon on my team is the male Indeed, Galvantula and the rapid strike version of Urshifu.

After hard grinding and gathering EXP candies, I got all of them to level 100 eventually.
I named my Indeedee Dachi and my Galvantula Sparkles. (I Love them very much)

In all honesty, I can't wait for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond as myself has played Pokemon Platinum and fully enjoyed the game and can't wait for the remakes. The only thing I wished they changed was the look of it, and not made it chibi and made it into sort of Pokemon Gen 8's look. But we all can't get what we want.

Hunger Games II Film Study

Gathering Details from the movie: Hunger Games
What's District 12 like
The district is run down and messy
There are coal miners
Kids play with sticks pushing them into the mud as a way of playing
There’s a fence surrounding District 12 pointing that it’s an electric fence
The houses are old and run down
There are windows, but their broken and some of them have wood covering them
There isn’t a lot of food (You can see man-eating small pieces of chicken off a bone)
It’s dirty and not clean
The clothes are old and old fashioned
Poverty
In District 12 the colours are dull consisting of either Grey, washed white clothes but blue and green grass.
The technology is old and something that would've been used in the olden days when technology wasn’t as advanced
Whats sounds do you hear in District 12’s scene
There’s a humming sound of a women in the background of the movie when it focus around Katniss running around her District to get out into the forest (Also plays within the forest when Katniss grabs her bow)
What's the Capitol like
The capitol is fancy and huge
It’s modern and neat
Has lots of clean water and tall building with nice clear windows showing
The clothes a clean and fresh with nice vivid colours
The people wear colourful makeup
Everyone is happy and the kids are happy and have things besides sticks to play with
Everyone’s excited to see the Selected 2 for the hunger games, giving off smiles and waves
Not a lot of nice colours in the capitol but grey and metal, the only colour the capitol have are on their people.
Their technology is futuristic and high advanced

What did it sound like in the capitol
The capitols background music sounded Egyptian
You could also hear people screaming in joy whereas in District 12 you could hear no people but see them.
What's the reaping like
When the reaping starts and people are walking in, everyone is silent
People are nervous and scared (That they are going to be picked)
Always facing the front
An extreme close up is seen on Effie when she is talking over the mic
People are standing in straight lines
The camera movement is fast
There is a tracking camera movement when following Katniss while she is looking for her younger sister
There is a close up on Katniss when she is lip talking with gale
A close up on Effie when talking about a video from the capitol
Mentions a district 13
Diegetic is when you can hear no music but silence and the sounds of things you wouldn’t be able to hear over music unless silence was around. Things like paper rustling and the sound of people's footsteps
Non-Diegetic is when there is music playing over the sounds of things you’d likely hear in Diegetic.
What does it sound like
The reaping starts off with no sound but silence and visual of people moving around and getting their blood taken
The only time sound/Music can be heard during the reaping is during the video from the capitol after that it’s pure silence again but the voices of Effie and the footstep movements of district 12.

10WD-Themes-Rich v Poor

What are the differences between D12 & the Capitol Clothes
D12 clothes are dull and wash out colours with the vibe of old-time clothes from within the first 20th century
While the Capitols clothes
Are Colourful and fancy with many accessories and makeup used.

Why is the Bow the weapon Katniss uses
Because it’s that one weapon that Katniss is confident about using.
What are the differences between D12 & the capitols Technology
D12’s technology is old fashioned and something that would likely have been used in ancient Roman
What can people in D12 do to get Extra food
Put their names in extra times
Win the hunger games to get Food and Money

Money Matter II Math

Over the past weeks in math, we've been learning about money in maths and how it works.
One of the things we learned was about discounting in money.
I at first didn't understand this but later on found that it was really simply an example of this is A Bicycle costs $2.500. If the shopkeeper gives a 15% discount, how much is the discount. Calculate the new price.

To do this we need to go

15 x 2500
this will equal 37500 (Just minus the two 00's to get 375)
Next you'll want to find the final answer to the question to do this you'll do
2500 - 375 which will give you your final answer of $2.125

Making your new price $2.125

Why do we need to learn this?We need to learn something like this becuase it's something useful that could help us with out discounting in the furture if needed. this will also help if your buying a car that 30% off. you'll know how much money you'll need and won't go over the trouble of getting more money than you probably need

Where would we use this?Like before discounting can be used on many things. like if a PS4 is 10% off you could use discounting to find out it's final price to find out how much money you would need.

It's as simple as that and it's really helpful too so your not going to much over the acutal amount of money you need. and your missing the sale becuase your stacking up on money cause you didn't know how much money you really needed becuase of the discount.

Reflection II PE

For the last couple of weeks in PE, we've been working on Teamwork in sport.
And what it is to us.
I feel I did okay but could do a bit better.
I did indeed play and participate but I feel there wasn't enough communication between our teams, and I feel there could of been a bit more.

PE was good though. This week we're doing volleyball so I'm excited about that and can't wait to try it out.

Spring rolls (Food)

Last week for our practical we made Spring rolls with rice crackers???
First, we had to gather our ingredients and then a bowl and fill it up with water, then we set the Rice cracker in the bowl and waited for 1 minute for it to soak before taking it out and making our roll.

When you tried folding the roll with the food it felt kinda weird...
and once it dried up it felt like skin
But the oddest thing was trying it when you bite down on it, it feels like your eating a thin piece of fish skin.

The texture though looked good, like a little see/through present
The smell, I couldn't really smell it at the time... sadly.
Though the making of the food was super easy to make, which made life a lot easier.

Learner Matrix (English)

(A green box with a yellow outer ring means I can do it but I'm still unsure)

Goals
-Ask for more feedback (I find it hard to sometimes ask for help or watch stuff that I made and has feedback directed towards me as I find it nerve-racking to know about to feedback)

-Do the work I don't really finish after school ( I do, do this but sometimes I'm up till 10 or 11:00 at night finishing work for the next day, but other times I'll just finish them at home, meaning work comes before games. I feel that this would help me bring down the time of how long I'm staying up during school nights if I get my work done somewhere during morning tea, lunch or after school)

-I find it easy to tell people on how I like to work, Most times if its in a big area with lots of people, I find it easier when I have the noise blocked out with some nice calming music, or if the volume isn't loud, and sometimes I find it better just to work alone as I don't get distracted by that person sitting next to me.
