What does my painting depict?

The subject matter of my painting is a painting of Iron Man

How did I create the different tones?

I used diluted white acrylic paint to make a  thin wash.  I brushed this on the painting paper with the black gesso. This created a grey tone. To make lighter, grey tones, I added second and third layers of wash. I also did a bit of outlining in normal black and white paint to make it neater.

How did you compose your subject matter?

Iron Man is centred in the picture space

Is your subject matter symbolic or does it express an idea?

My subject matter isn't symbolic. But it represents the marvel series.

How did you paint the highlights?

Is the negative space important in your painting?

With white washed paint and plain white paint. Washed paint to smooth it out and normal white paint to add more light to it.

Yes so it can make the character stand out more.

Zeus II Social Studies

Its the start of term 4 which means we have a new topic in Social Studies, in social studies for the topic of this term we started looking at deities/gods and where they're from. For this, we had the Maori deity and had to find out what their job or what they were known as. Once we found that out we had to find the Ancient Greek, Ancient Roman, and Hindu deity of that element that we found from the Maori deity.

After that, we had to pick a deity/god from the list we just made and make a poster about said deity/god
For this I picked Zeus.

I enjoyed doing this topic, in total this took 3 days, 2 days for the god finding because the first day we did it, it was a Wednesday and on Wednesday class hours are shorter, the next day was Thursday where I finished my god finding and picked one, that's where I began to put down my notes so I could then transport it to my poster, and today Friday I finished off the last part of my notes and made the poster.

Workshop 5 Sound and Music II English

Link to Workshop 5
For this workshop of of the Teachers at our school played 2 songs on his guitar and once he finished said song on Guitar we were to write down in 3 or more words on how that song made us feel.

Song 1 -  Happy, Excited, Energetic (Major or Minor? - Major Cords)

Song 2 -  A sort of sad romantic Itilian vibe of song, Mysterious, Wonderous (Major or Minor - Minor Cords)

-----------------

Major - Upbeat, Louder, Full strings (Full stroke the guitars strings), Contains 1st 3rd 5th.
Minor - Low Beat, Quieter, suspenseful, Mysterious, Romantic.
Tempo - Speed of the beat or how fast the song is being played as.
Dynamic - Variation between the notes, Volume
Diegetic - Music from the enviroment - Natural Music
Non-Diegetic - Soundtracks, Special Effects

-----------------

In the Dystopian Film The Hunger Games made by Gary Ross music is used substatially to suport Theme and Idea of Hope and Rebellion. This is demonstrated during Rue's Death through the minor cords which makes the audiance hold a sort of sadness for Rue's death. The Tempo of the soundtrack that is also playing during this scene is slowly revealing the emontion and grief to which Katniss is feeling. The dynamic of the music when this scene first starts is a soft quiet sound and builds up louder as the scene progresses through. The director did this to make the auidence feel some sort of connection to Katniss in an emotionally charged moment, where Katniss loses hope. This had wroked out well with the following scene after Rue's death where Distrct 11 goes into a Riot.
