Passion Projects

For Wananga we are doing passion projects for term 3 and half of term 4.
For passion projects I am doing Forensic Science. I picked this cause I enjoy science and want to
take Forensics as my future job.

In Forensics we are first doing a bit of research, the things we are researching are somethings that Forensics' would do. The research we find out we put on a doc and gather more information about the technique

I picked, Fingerprints, Scene of crime officers and Toxicology.
I picked Fingerprints as my first topic because it's what got me into Forensics in the first place and I really like the challenge behind trying to find out who's fingerprint belongs to who. I picked scene of crime for my second because they go to crime scenes and investigate take back what they find and put it through things to either find out what happened, who the victim was and who was the murder. This I really like as they also involve themselves with DNA. And lastly Toxicology I just picked this as a random but I think it's a good thing I picked it as Toxicology goes over the protentional poisons or drugs found within a victim.

The part that I'm really excited about is when we reach the end of passion projects our teacher for the subject will create a crime scene that we will have to solve.

  1. Superb reporting on your Passion Project choice. Have you checked out careers in Forensic Science? I'm sure that would be a great career path. Very mature writing with lots to interest your readers.

This is absolutely fascinating. If I';d been able to do this stuff when I was at school I might have pursued a career in science. The Toxicology stuff doesn't just apply to forensics, of course.. a huge area. I hope you pursue your passion further.
