Learning Matrix progress (English)

I didn't get much done as I only had one session of English because I went home sick on Tuesday period 4 and we had English period 5 that day. so I have a bit to catch up onto.
This week I plan to do the following - 2 green and 1 yellow Creative writing tasks for this week and the workshop I shall attend will be - Workshop 3 (Fantasy and game plot writing)

And out of all of this, I hope I can get more done than last week so then next week I'll be back on track and up to date with my work.

Learner Matrix (English)

(A green box with a yellow outer ring means I can do it but I'm still unsure)

Goals
-Ask for more feedback (I find it hard to sometimes ask for help or watch stuff that I made and has feedback directed towards me as I find it nerve-racking to know about to feedback)

-Do the work I don't really finish after school ( I do, do this but sometimes I'm up till 10 or 11:00 at night finishing work for the next day, but other times I'll just finish them at home, meaning work comes before games. I feel that this would help me bring down the time of how long I'm staying up during school nights if I get my work done somewhere during morning tea, lunch or after school)

-I find it easy to tell people on how I like to work, Most times if its in a big area with lots of people, I find it easier when I have the noise blocked out with some nice calming music, or if the volume isn't loud, and sometimes I find it better just to work alone as I don't get distracted by that person sitting next to me.

Vegetarian Nachos (Food)

Since its, a new semester that means new choices to do for options and one of them happens to be food. We have this thing where on Wednesday we would do Chromebook work and then Thursday we would do the actual cooking. And last week we made Vegetarian Nachos

-What did I think of our teamwork-

The teamwork for making this product was okay. In our making of the food, I did the dishes and the stirring of the food while it cooked
In all everyone pretty much had something to do, and there was always someone doing something for the food
The communication was okay, there wasn't much talking but we still had to talk to each other to find things that we had no idea about or to transfer to something else (E.g one person was stirring and then they went to get a seasoning so someone took over the stirring of the food)

After all of that, the outcome of the food looked delicious. Especially the way it was laid out on the plate.
After we had finished plating our food we had a couple of visitors (Teachers) come in and try our food and then rank them from 1st to last and give us their personal opinion.

I felt pretty proud of myself when our team got 1st place more than once (Another team got a 1st place by a teacher) I felt proud because of all the hard work our team had done to make the food.

my personal opinion on the food is something I can't say as I never ate it due to a strong gag reflex to some foods. but I would have loved to have eaten it as it looked yummy.

Maori art (Social studies)

What have you learnt about
In Social studies, we started looking at the Maori art, and how they did tattoos
Back then when men got their tattoos done it was forbidden for them to cry or wince as it showed a sign of weakness.
After we watched a video of a guy getting a tattoo we were then given a piece of paper with a face on it so we could draw our own Maori tattoos

Your design
(Mine)

What your design means to you
The chin of a Maori design normally means Mana, To me it feels like the Mana is of high status therefore untouchable
For the Jaw it means Birth Status. To me, the design feels like a balance between two status altogether. E.g Royal and Commoner together.

30 Sec Film (English)

30 Sec Film Reflection Questions.
-----------------------
Retell the story of making your film
First, we had to do our film board on what we were going to do, we had to draw the storyboard out and then stick the film shots of what we were going to do for the filming, like long-range or short-range, then we had to add underneath what the person would be doing. Then after we got our storyboard done we had to get permission so we could go to the library and film. Once that was achieved we started our filming the next day. When we first started we did all our shots in just one whole thing which was pretty difficult, and as 2 weeks went by we still hadn't gotten anything done, so on the last week we had done all shots in separate meaning nothing was just a full shot, every shot was 5 or 6 seconds.
After we had got the filming done it was editing time and it also meant that we had finished our 30-second film,
(Storyboard)

(Below is our final product)

Things I enjoyed about this project
While doing the project the things I enjoyed most about this project. Was working with other people I would probably not work with in the first place or even decide to work with.

Things I learned during this project
What I learned during this project was that sometimes it's better to push people a little bit to get the work done. cause without it none of this would be done and we would be on the last string of the period to finish our film.

Things that challenged me during this project
Shots, shots, in general, were a big pain for me as I had done the filming, it was kinda hard to get a  high shot as I'm not that high and if I went to high then I would have not been able to capture the two actors for my shot. Meaning that the shot would of have to be done again. But in the end, I had managed to get the shot done.

If I did this again, what would I do differently
If I had done this project again the one thing I wish I could do differently was doing the shots separate from the start and not in full shot, meaning if I did it separate from the start, I would've had more time for editing and other stuff that I had to do with the team I was in.

Designing a game (Math)

In Math we were given a task to design a game now you may be wondering (Probably not) how this happened but, it started when we had no idea about mathematical words so we were given a task to make a doc and find as many words that could go for subtracting, Adding, Timesing and Dividing, so we set off into a group and did that task, once we did that we were then told to make a word cloud and stick all our words in it.

(Here are our word clouds and our Math words we used for the word cloud)

After we did the word clouds we were then told to think of a game that we could use to make a math game, we were still in the same groups for the word clouds so nothing changed but our task, so we set off and made a list of games we could do to make a math game for people
But first, we had to do a design process and then make the game, The game we had picked from our design process was Pick-A-Path. It was oddly fun to make.

(Our game and design process)

After we had finished our game we then had to make a small video on how to play the game, and what the game was for
here is our final result.
